Wicked Lair from Stefan Pratter is a kind of the tower defense game where you will explore an underground lair with multiple dungeon floors instead of a multi-lane ground.
You will play as the lord of the lair who is about to fend off invading heroes from the town by building dungeons and deploying guarding minions.
In this game, you will meet 9 distinct dungeon types, each with its unique bonuses.
Along the game, your minions guarding or passing through Tree of Life in Growth dungeon will be healed instantly
Meanwhile, while the orc and goblins’ Citadel will make enemy heroes cough up an increased amount of gold if dropping dead there.
Anyways, your choice of dungeon types will also decide the creatures and traps which you can bring to the battle.
Each dungeon brings 1 trap, 1 boss-like creature and 4 minions at three levels.
Here, your first level minions will not cost anything and they can be upgraded later to higher levels during battle.
In line with this, you can directly hire powerful minions or save the coins for a trap or boss.
Besides, you should consider the minions’ roles such as defenders, gatherers, patrol and invaders, etc.
Based upon their roles, minions will act differently as guarding a position, shuttling between base and heroes’ town to steal treasure and wrecking havocs to the town.
On the other side, the game shares the familiar strategic core from typical tower defense games where you will be able to deploy your resources before a battle begins.
At the same time, you can build extra dungeon floors above your base and hire different creatures as well as setting traps to defeat enemy heroes.
Here, your amount of coins will be important as you will need those coins to plan and calculate when you select the dungeon types and corresponding minions and traps spawn there.
However, this game is weaker in the contents with only two game modes within.
In the Town Attack, you are able to build up to 10 floors and destroy the town to your victory
And, the Endless Survival is self-explanatory but it raises the floors max to 50 and it rewards you with gold by destroying town.
At this point, what increases its replay value is that you can try the town attack in three difficulty tiers.
Good news is this game is free to download and play.
But if you want to go to the survival, you will be prompted to buy Expansions for real cash to unlock the six better dungeons as well as minions and traps inside.
The bottom line is that this game offers strategic fun with its variety of dungeons, minion, traps and spells.
But it lacks of solid and fresh contents and it is great to bring tower defense & dungeon-building blend in this game.
